“He who has ceased improving has ceased to be good.” The German
porcelain manufacturer Philip Rosenthal understood that
only with new ideas and innovations can a company succeed as
it grows. Turning the financial crisis into an opportunity – this is
the approach being taken by Hamburg Airport. Economically dif -
ficult times prepare the way for active renewal. With the support
and encouragement of the Executive Board, the various business
units have shown courage and farsightedness in the planning and
execution of their innovative projects. The Annual Report for 2009
places these projects in the spotlight.
