Formally, each test descriptioncontains the following sections:PurposeTo verify that a Vendor’s HDD <strong>SATA</strong> Gen 1 or Gen 2 device meets the Digital test requirementsdescribed in Serial ATA Interoperability Program Rev 1.3 Version <strong>1.0</strong> Unified Test Document forboth Mandatory and Optional testing.Each specific test will include a brief statement outlining what the test written at a functional levelattempts to achieve.ReferencesFor each test this section may specify any additional reference material external to the test suite,including the specific sub clauses references for the test in question, and any other references thatmight be helpful in understanding the test methodology and/or test results. External sources arealways referenced by a bracketed number (e.g., [1]) when mentioned in the test description. Anyother references in the test description that are not indicated in this manner refer to elements withinthe test suite document itself (e.g., “Appendix A”, or “Table 5.1.1-1”)Resource RequirementsThe requirements section specifies the test hardware and/or software needed to perform the test.This is generally expressed in terms of minimum requirements, however in some cases specificequipment manufacturer/model information may be provided.Common requirements for all Tests are listed below, some tests may have additional requirementswhich will be listed within the specific test:Resource Requirements• Windows XP Operating System• LeCroy STX <strong>SATA</strong> Software Revision 2.81 or higher.• Windows based host system with an available USB/Ethernet port• 512MB RAM or higher• LeCroy Sierra M6-4, STX-431, STX-231 or STX-131 Protocol Bus Analyzer/Exerciser• LeCroy <strong>SATA</strong> External Power Cable or an external power supply11 Digital MOI for LeCroy STX Bus Analyzer
