Sacombank. The idea stemmed from the Banks aim to help the downcast and under-
privileged and provide them with a light of hope.
Also in 2007, Sacombank contributed to hundreds of community programs including
funds for the poor and victims of orange agents, charitable eye surgery, clinics and
poor houses; supported orphanages, victims of natural disasters in Central Vietnam
and other charitable activities. About VND16 billion that mainly came from staff
contribution and welfare, was spent. In addition, the Bank’s 211 branches, from north
to south, has offered employment to 6,000 workers nationwide, contributing to the
economic development and raising awareness of banking to the nation.
Not putting profi t as its fi rst goal, Sacombank focuses on providing customer benefi ts
with a customer-oriented product “Sacombank– thanking you is not enough” was
designed as a gratitude program for customers. Sacombank has done extensive
research to launch particular products fi tting various customers with specifi c needs
such as saving, lending, consuming, overseas studying. The Bank also invested in
modern bank technology, extending its network to remote areas to serve customers
better. Special branches have been set up to serve special needs, such as, Women-
for-Women branches and Chinese Speaking Branches. Sacombank has always
treated customers as partners in development.
