PERC TUCKERREGIONAL GALLERYTownsville City Council established the Young Artist Awardsin 1994 to support and develop the artistic talent of youngpeople in this community.Young artists from pre-school through to the final yearof secondary school are encouraged to enter the 2012Townsville Young Artist Awards.Young artists can enter individually or as part of a schoolgroup. Portrait SECTION sculpture KOpen (up to and including 18 years)Portrait Sculpture AwardIn anticipation of the 2012 Xstrata Percival Portrait Award,Townsville’s biennial portrait prize, the Townsville Young ArtistAwards are once again including a special section for 3-D artworks.Sculptures can be made of clay, paper mache, plastic, paper,wood, wire, found and recycled materials. CONDITIONSOF ENTRY1. Applicants must reside within the Townsville City Council local governmentarea or attend a school in the Townsville local government region.2. All entries must be original and unaided work of the entrants.3. Each entrant may submit a maximum of ONE ENTRY PER SECTION.4. Works entered must have been completed in 2012.5. ALL WORKS MUST BE ON PAPER (excluding section K)6. Works must not be LAMINATED, MOUNTED OR FRAMED.7. Paintings and drawings may be in any medium. Collage is acceptable.8. Print includes a photograph, computer generated image or traditional prints includinglino, etching and screenprints.9. Sculpture can include clay, paper mache, wire, plastic, material natural and foundmaterials.10. Size limits must be observed.Sections A-F:maximum 30cm x 42cm (A3)minimum x 21cm (A5)Sections G & H:maximum 21cm x 30cm (A4)Sections I & J:maximum 100 cm x 100cmSection K:maximum 50cm x 50cm x 50cm11. Works must be clearly labelled using the Entry Form provided.12. All works, Entry form and Wall Label must be delivered to Perc TuckerRegional Gallery, Flinders Street, between 10am and 5pm on Friday 6 April 2012.Late entries will not be accepted.13. There is no entry fee.14. Works will be on display at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery from 13 April - 29 April 2012.15. Artworks must be collected between 10am and 5pm Tuesday 1 - Friday 4 May orbetween 10am and 2pm Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May 2012.Unclaimed works will be recycled.16. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered intoregarding the decision.17.
