Convo<strong>ca</strong>tion June 2012 - Our grade 12 students are asked to mark the date Thursday, June 28at 9:00 am at the Winnipeg Centennial Concert Hall for this very special event.CONVOCATION 2012 / SAFE GRAD 2012SAFE GRAD is a plan to organize an enjoyable but accident and incident free graduationcelebration:Safe Grad 2012 on Friday June 29 th will begin at 6pm at Canad Inns Polo Park and continueat the Tijuana Yacht Club until 5am. This new lo<strong>ca</strong>tion will allow us to enjoy dinner,speeches, dancing and an all night party with larger <strong>ca</strong>pacity, smooth transition from thebanquet hall to the night club, convenient handling of extra clothing, and ample free parking.We hope that many grads will join us for this exciting celebration and that growing involvementby parents and family will continue.Safe Grad last year was a huge success and the graduating class is looking forward to a similarlyexcellent event this year. Our 2012 Grad Reps, Jessi<strong>ca</strong> B. and Whitney S., meet weeklywith the Grad Committee to plan fundraising activities, events throughout the year, andSafe Grad. Our 2012 Safe Grad Parent Committee Chair, Troy McLennan, (also 2010 chair)brings considerable experience to the role. This event depends on a large group of volunteersso the grads need their parents’ support. Please contact Troy McLennan directly(threeson@shaw.<strong>ca</strong>) to discuss opportunities to volunteer. No grads or their guests (except parents and family) are allowed to drive. No one under the age of 18 is allowed to purchase, possess or consume alcohol.Private parties after attending Safe Grad are not sponsored by the school or the StudentCouncil. We encourage all graduates to enjoy Safe Grad so their safety <strong>ca</strong>n be supervisedfor the entire celebration.GRAD FUNDRAISERSParticipation in our fundraising <strong>ca</strong>mpaigns helps us pay for Grad and <strong>ca</strong>n reduce individual ticketprices. Campaigns currently or soon to be underway include:To date, we have initiated the following three fundraisers: Mom’s Pantry Products Magazine Subscriptions Sobey’s Gift CardsThe total amount sold for Moms Pantry Products and Sobeys Gift Cards is credited to individualfundraising accounts as follows:$100-$299 at 1/3 off the ticket price$300-$599 at 2/3 off the ticket price$600 or more - free ticket(Each graduate may invite one guest and/or their parents. All guests and parents will pay fullprice for tickets.
