Undecided students who are consideringa career in the sciences, but who are unsure about amajor, should enroll in the Associate in Science (A.S.) inGeneral Studies.Those university-bound students who have decidedupon a major which AWC does not offer (for example,speech therapy), but who wish to complete their <strong>Arizona</strong>General Education Curriculum (AGEC) courses (a blockof 35 credits) as well as selected 100 and 200 level majorand elective courses (a block of 29 credits) at AWC shouldenroll in either the A.A. or A.S. in General Studies. You then take the form to theEnrollment Services Office where your choices of coursesare processed.Special Admit Signatures forRegistration FormAll students in middle school, grade school, or high schoolseeking to qualify for the high school tuition rate mustsubmit a registration form with the High School/MiddleSchool Counselor or Principal signature. In addition tothe school representative, the student is also required tohave an AWC academic counselor/advisor’s signature.If the student is home schooled, the parent signs as theschool official. Students 16 years old and under must alsoobtain written permission from the instructor of the specificclass. Students can check with AWC Counseling andAdvisement Services to see if permission has been givenfor an academic counselor/advisor to sign on behalf ofthe instructor. The decision to approve the student’s registrationis dependent upon one or more of the following:placement test scores, academic history, current courseenrollment, and/or instructor approval.22
