A decade of passion<br />

Passion<br />

One might th<strong>in</strong>k that software and software eng<strong>in</strong>eers<br />

have noth<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> do with passion. One might also th<strong>in</strong>k that<br />

the Corporate World is all about figures, profit, hard<br />

negotiations and long hours <strong>in</strong>side meet<strong>in</strong>gs and <strong>in</strong>side the<br />

office. One might even th<strong>in</strong>k that what we do every day is<br />

<strong>to</strong> take a huge amount of data, apply some complex<br />

mathematical functions and create algorithms.<br />

We, here at <strong>dcs</strong> <strong>plus</strong> believe that one might also be wrong<br />

<strong>in</strong> mak<strong>in</strong>g these assumptions. We state this very clearly<br />

because we know a different s<strong>to</strong>ry. We know a s<strong>to</strong>ry about<br />

passion, a s<strong>to</strong>ry with long nights of hard work that seemed<br />

<strong>to</strong> be only m<strong>in</strong>utes. We know a s<strong>to</strong>ry full of challenges and<br />

successes from overcom<strong>in</strong>g them. We know a s<strong>to</strong>ry that<br />

seems <strong>to</strong> have no limits.<br />

We talk about a s<strong>to</strong>ry full of passion because this is how<br />

we came <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> existence back <strong>in</strong> 2002 when the company<br />

was founded by its current owner <strong>in</strong>side the University<br />

Campus. We know it was passion because everyth<strong>in</strong>g that<br />

was done back then by a small group of computer science<br />

graduates was done with the desire <strong>to</strong> make a difference;<br />

<strong>to</strong> stand out from the day <strong>to</strong> day s<strong>to</strong>ries and challenge<br />

everyth<strong>in</strong>g and everyone.<br />

Courage<br />

We talk about courage <strong>in</strong> our s<strong>to</strong>ry because with every<br />

little success we had more and more courage <strong>to</strong> be bolder<br />

and explore more…and challenge more and more people<br />

and mentalities.<br />

Experience<br />

With the pass<strong>in</strong>g of the years, part of the passion turned<br />

<strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> experience. Part of the disappo<strong>in</strong>tments transformed<br />

<strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> new challenges <strong>to</strong> overcome and so, <strong>in</strong> 2004 we have<br />

started <strong>to</strong> work on the ERP system TINA. Back then, it was<br />

hard <strong>to</strong> decide if we should embrace the new emerg<strong>in</strong>g<br />

web technology or use the well proven client-server<br />

architecture. We <strong>to</strong>ok the chance and developed<br />

everyth<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> web based technologies. In December 2005<br />

we have officially launched the product <strong>in</strong>side the<br />

Romanian market. We put all our dreams and hopes, all<br />

our disappo<strong>in</strong>tments and passion, all our courage <strong>in</strong> this.<br />

We gave everyth<strong>in</strong>g that we could <strong>to</strong> create a product<br />

which will be new from every s<strong>in</strong>gle po<strong>in</strong>t of view<br />

(technology used, cus<strong>to</strong>mer care, bus<strong>in</strong>ess model<br />

cus<strong>to</strong>mization, consultancy services, implementation<br />

model). It was great. In 6 months time, most of the <strong>to</strong>p<br />

travel agencies <strong>in</strong>side the Romanian market were us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

TINA. 6 months later we were sign<strong>in</strong>g an exclusive<br />

distribution agreement <strong>to</strong>gether with Amadeus IT Group<br />

which became the sole distribu<strong>to</strong>r of TINA across the CESE<br />

region as early as 2007. This s<strong>to</strong>ry is still <strong>to</strong> be written as,<br />

s<strong>in</strong>ce then, we are deploy<strong>in</strong>g TINA <strong>in</strong> more and more<br />

markets every year.<br />

By the end of 2009, we had <strong>to</strong> take a <strong>to</strong>ugh decision <strong>to</strong> replace our<br />

previous B2B. From all the systems analyzed at that time, we<br />

With the great support as well as persistence of Mr. Alexandru<br />

Bararu, the 1st phase implementation process <strong>to</strong>ok us only 3<br />

months time; dur<strong>in</strong>g that time we passed several challenges <strong>to</strong><br />

adopt the system <strong>to</strong> Amsalem needs. <strong>dcs</strong> <strong>plus</strong> team was always<br />

Phase 2 implementation is already beh<strong>in</strong>d us, the system is up and<br />
