Rope ProductsSterling offers two product lines for use in fire fightingsituations: Search lines and Escape Ropes. Our high-heatresistant search lines were developed specifically for theextreme and demanding conditions encountered duringsearch operations. Firefighter safety and survival isparamount for every department, and search lines haveemerged as an integral rescue tool for rescue operations.Sterling utilizes aramid fibers, such as Technora®, inunique constructions to achieve the optimum handling, heat resistance and strength required for these ropes.Sterling’s escape ropes are certified to NFPA 1983, 2006edition and have a perfect balance of strength, abrasionresistance, and handling. Our ropes are designed with atougher sheath and better elongation in the cores toabsorb the impact forces from a bail out. Developmentwork with FDNY led to the creation of the FireTech 32.No other personal escape ropes have been tested asmuch or as thoroughly as Sterling’s products, which iswhy Sterling fire rescue ropes are the most preferredropes by top fire and safety instructors.ESCAPE / Searchescape / SearchESCAPE + SEARCH ROPESFireTech 32• 7.5mm heat resistant/high strengthpersonal escape rope• 100% Technora® aramid kernmantleconstruction• Official rope of the FDNY personalescape system• Heat resistant to 932° (500° C)• Technora allows for better durabilityand longer exposure times• Excellent resistant to abrasion, cuts, and chemicals such as acids and alkalis• Exceptionally high tensile strength.MBS of 5,756 lbs.• Certified to NFPA 1983, 2006 editionfor escape rope.EscapeTech• 7.5mm heat resistant/high strengthpersonal escape rope• Technora® sheath, nylon corekernmantle construction• Sheath heat resistant to 932° (500° C)• Core heat resistant to 420° (215° C)• Technora allows for better durability, longer exposure time to direct heat• Resistant to abrasion, cuts, andchemicals such as acids and alkalis• Most packable escape rope available.• MBS of 3,912 lbs.• Certified to NFPA 1983, 2006 editionfor escape rope.RIT 500• 8mm heat resistant/high strength searchand escape rope.• Aramid sheath and nylon core• Heat resistant sheath to 932° (500°C).• Nylon core for impact absorption.
