Fruita Community Center UpdateNow that we are five months into construction and the walls are goingup, do you have a question about the new Fruita Community Center?Well, here are some FAQs (frequently asked questions) that the city hasreceived so far.Question: Has the winter weather delayed construction and when will theFruita Community Center open?Answer: Yes, we have had a very wet, cold winter by Fruita standards, andas a result, construction is running about a week behind. Both the Cityand FCI Constructors are working very hard to get the project back ontrack and it is still estimated that the Center will be opening in January2011.Question: Is the existing outdoor pool going to be open this summer?Answer: Unfortunately, because construction is taking place in such closeproximity to the existing outdoor pool, we won’t have access to it thissummer. The City is taking advantage of this time to renovate the outdoorpool while building the new Community Center.
