Theband, which makes its home atthe Yardbird Suite forrehearsals, was formed in 1996with some of Edmonton's andareas finest big band musiciansdedicated to the performance ofquality big band jazz. The bandrecently completed twoperformances at the Horizon Stagefeaturing the Big Band Hits of WorldWar II, which was narrated by ColinMacLean of CBC. The RCBB alsorecently backed up Alistair Kay ofBoss Brass fame on his YamahaTrombone Tour.This performance will also featurethe talents of Bartha Hartman, oneof Edmonton's most versatile singers.A former member of the SerendipitySingers, Bartha is equally at homesinging jazz, blues, rock, soul anddisco. Bartha was featured withTommy Banks' Jazzy Christmas at theSuite in 2001, Jazz City Festival, aswell as with the RCBB's performanceat the Horizon Theatre in Novemberof 2002.
