<strong>The</strong> <strong>Vietnamese</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Houston</strong> (VAMA-GH) is a non-pr<strong>of</strong>itorganization for physicians <strong>of</strong> <strong>Vietnamese</strong> heritage who live and practice in the <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Houston</strong> area.VAMA-GH is proud to announce the establishment <strong>of</strong> four scholarships for high school, pre-medicaland medical students. <strong>The</strong> goals <strong>of</strong> the scholarships are to recognize excellence in scholasticachievement, foster interests in serving the <strong>Vietnamese</strong> <strong>American</strong> community, and encourageparticipation and leadership in the <strong>Association</strong>.Types <strong>of</strong> scholarships:1. VAMA-GH High School Students ScholarshipTwo scholarships worth $500 each.2. VAMA-GH Pre-medical Students ScholarshipOne scholarship worth $1,000.3. VAMA-GH <strong>Medical</strong> Students ScholarshipOne scholarship worth $1,000.Candidates must be <strong>of</strong> <strong>Vietnamese</strong> descent, currently reside or attend school in the <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Houston</strong>area, and be in good standing during their 2 nd through 4 th year <strong>of</strong> studies at the respective institution.<strong>The</strong> following items are required for scholarship consideration:1. A completed VAMA-GH scholarship application form (can be downloaded fromhttp://www.vamahouston.org/ )2. A curriculum vitae3. An <strong>of</strong>ficial transcript from your current institutionApplication must be submitted by January 15, 2013 for consideration.
