After an openingblessing led by Father Bob Higgins,Assistant Principal Larry Oleksiakintroduced Mt. Pleasant Mayor HarryHallman who read a proclamationnaming May 25 as Sister Stella MarisDay and presented her with a Key tothe City. Student Council PresidentDaniel Rebula spokeon behalf of all thestudents, andthanked Sister for herdedication, and thenunveiled the EighthGrade Class Gift—astunning large Crossmounted on abackground of blueand inscribed with theLord’s Prayer.Sister’s thanks wereheartfelt and touching, and thechildren’s closing song to Sister (TheIrish Blessing) left everyone clearlymoved.
