These efforts have included an artificial element,"Fluorite", with extraordinary dispersion characteristics and the newlydeveloped"Hi-UD"(high index ultra low dispersion) glass. Canon hassucceeded in the practical use of special elements along with advanceddesign techniques like "separate achromatism".
