The <strong>key</strong> <strong>fob</strong> but<strong>to</strong>nmust be pres<strong>se</strong>d twice within 1.5 <strong>se</strong>conds <strong>to</strong> <strong>se</strong>nd the disarmcommand. The action is very similar <strong>to</strong> double-clicking a computermou<strong>se</strong>. Light quick taps w<strong>or</strong>k best; very hard <strong>or</strong> veryslow taps are less likely <strong>to</strong> w<strong>or</strong>k.See Figure 3-24. The <strong>key</strong> <strong>fob</strong> <strong>se</strong>nds a RF <strong>signal</strong> <strong>to</strong> activate allremote TSSM functions. The left front turn <strong>signal</strong> switch wire<strong>se</strong>rves as the vehicle’s antenna. Battery life undern<strong>or</strong>mal conditions is approximately three <strong>to</strong> six years.NOTEThe internal siren battery may not charge if the vehicle’s batteryis less than 12.5 volts.Battery Replacement1. Disarm system and remove siren.2. See Figure 3-53. Remove battery cover.a. Place the siren module on a flat and sturdy tablewith the potted <strong>se</strong>ction (area with epoxy covering circuitboard) facing up and <strong>to</strong>wards you.b. Position a knife blade at a 45 degree angle <strong>to</strong> thelong side of the siren ca<strong>se</strong>. In<strong>se</strong>rt the knife bladebetween the siren ca<strong>se</strong> and battery cover at one ofthe two accessible c<strong>or</strong>ners of the battery cover.Keep the blade slightly higher <strong>to</strong>wards the batterycover as this helps keep the blade away from thebattery <strong>se</strong>al.c.
