Several processors are down both Fridayand Monday and those that are running tomorrow will bedown on Monday. This is expected to keep inventoriesfrom building too terribly much during next week and allowfor price support where it exists right now. Breast meatseems like a likely exception with offerings failing toattract much interest over the next week or so. We haverecorded business at full market levels for the mostimmediate needs but this seems associated more withtiming and logistics than anything else. The same can besaid where demand for frozen scapula is still going strongand timing requires premiums to be paid for delivery in thevery immediate future. That said we find interest for nextweek and beyond to be on the retreat and that calls intoquestion the longevity of present price support. Thighmeat is in great shape and despite modest discounting, asolid seasonably strong undertone is in place. Wholebirds are attracting little in the way of demand and offeredprices continue to erode. Institutional sized whole birdsand breasts are expected to ease up but are still strongheading into the weekend. Consumer breasts rate firmundertones. Parts are mixed with drums fairly well balancedand lines like necks, wings and two joints experiencingmixed demand patterns.Mechanically Separated PoultryMST is reflecting strong undertones. Sources reportdemand patterns for early next year that are encouragingwith recent sales recorded at full market levels or better.MSC reports are quite thin with most players reflectingsteady but slow conditions.Russell Whitman732-240-5330 Ext. 247rwhitman@urnerbarry.comIf you want to sell it, why not tell it?
