Once they have received the shots, bring the record to the health office and we will make copies and input theinformation into the computer. Students will not be able to enter 6 th grade onthe first day of school in the fall, until their shots are up to date. We have hadmany calls from parents saying that their child IS up to date, but we werenever given the updated information. Mustang NewsPage 4Girls Soccer NewsBy: Bridget BarberThe soccer season wrapped up mid February with the Miles team reaching thefinal! In the semifinals we beat Pueblo Gardens at home- thanks to the manyfamilies and Kidco supporters who came and cheered. The finals were playedat Palo Verde High School and we were soundly beaten by soccer powerhouseC E Rose, going down 10-0. Despite the fact that injuries meant our team wasonly ten players (vs eleven), the team played hard and tried many strategies toget past the solid C E Rose midfield and defense, but to no avail. In the regularseason the team had victories against every team in our division, except CERose, and made good progress in playing as a team. Next year (budget willing)we will be in the greater Middle School soccer tournament as the K-8 schoolsare absorbed into the district wide sports system. It was a great season andMiles will miss its 8th graders Alize- our solid fearless tackler midfielder andsecret weapon, albeit reluctant!, goalie; Tasmanian Devil midfielder Paulinawho wowed us all with pink hair, brave headers and gritty tackles, and thefabulous backfield defense duo of GabyAlex who chased down attackers, looked really good and Alex even scored a goal in the semifinals! It was a funseason, and it was a pleasure to coach such a supportive team.- Coach BridgetTarget – Take Charge of EducationBy: Jen Silvas, Miles Parent/Site Council MemberDid you know that if you have a Target Red Debit Card or Target Red CreditCard, 1% of your purchases could be donated back to Miles?
