<strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® <strong>Polyamide</strong> <strong>Casings</strong>, from <strong>Viskase</strong>, are high performance<br />

casings for a wide range of processed meat, poultry and cheese<br />

applications. <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® <strong>Casings</strong> are nominal 1.8 mils / 45 µ and<br />

tailored to meet the processing and shelf storage requirements for a<br />

variety of products. Notable characteristics include a High Oxygen<br />

Barrier that extends product shelf life, eliminating the need for barrier<br />

bags and a Moisture Barrier that minimizes water migration through<br />

the film, maximizing product yield during cooking.<br />

<strong>Characteristics</strong><br />

<strong>Product</strong>s are offered in nominal 10% for <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® T/P and nominal 20% for <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® E<br />

levels. Depending on the application, most <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® casings can be used without presoaking.<br />

� <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® E, T casings are designed for use without soaking<br />

� <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® P, before use, must soak in cold water at 20°C max imum for no longer than<br />

30 min<br />

� <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® L is designed for Low meat adhesion<br />

� <strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® M is designed for Medium / High meat adhesion<br />

Storage & Handling<br />

<strong>VISFLEX</strong> ® <strong>Polyamide</strong> <strong>Casings</strong> should be stored in a cool, dry place away from steam pipes, hot<br />

storage areas or direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature: 40° – 75° F<br />

(4° - 24° C). Keep stock fresh by using oldest st ock first. Store cartons with product label<br />

showing. To avoid possible damage to casing, do not use knives, sharp instruments or hooks to<br />

open cartons.<br />
