<strong>Rosa</strong> looked around <strong>the</strong> house. She didnot need paper. There were many places topaint. First, <strong>Rosa</strong> painted <strong>the</strong> wall in herbaby bro<strong>the</strong>r’s nursery. Next, she painted <strong>the</strong>smooth floors.<strong>Rosa</strong>’s parents did not know what to say.WallBaby4


<strong>Rosa</strong> painted all <strong>the</strong> walls in <strong>the</strong> house. Shepainted all <strong>the</strong> floors, too. What would <strong>Rosa</strong>paint next?<strong>Rosa</strong> looked around again. She smiled.<strong>Rosa</strong> painted all <strong>the</strong> mirrors. <strong>Rosa</strong> painted more and more things. Shepainted <strong>the</strong> toaster, <strong>the</strong> counter, and <strong>the</strong> fruitbowl. <strong>Rosa</strong>’s parents looked around <strong>the</strong> house. Itlooked like an art museum!“There is nothing left,” <strong>the</strong>y said. “Youpainted everything!”“But I still want to paint!” <strong>Rosa</strong> said.Fruit bowl7


“I know,” said <strong>Rosa</strong>’s mo<strong>the</strong>r. “You canpaint outside!”<strong>Rosa</strong> painted <strong>the</strong> mailbox. Soon <strong>the</strong>re wasnothing left outside to paint.<strong>Rosa</strong>’s parents looked at each o<strong>the</strong>r. “<strong>Rosa</strong>paints whenever and whatever she can!” said herfa<strong>the</strong>r. “We have a real problem.”Mailbox8


Then <strong>Rosa</strong> started to paint <strong>the</strong> sidewalk.Mr. Jones, <strong>the</strong> man who lived next door, walkedover. He watched <strong>Rosa</strong> paint.Then Mr. Jones said, “They are lookingfor people to paint pictures on <strong>the</strong> walls of <strong>the</strong>community center. <strong>Rosa</strong>, would you liketo help?”<strong>Rosa</strong>’s parents smiled.Sidewalk9


The next day, <strong>Rosa</strong> went to <strong>the</strong> communitycenter. It had long, tall walls!
