One century of experience in engineering, five continents, 50 countries and over 1,000 employees
have made us one of the largest suppliers of machines and consumables for load securement in
the world. Ever since the company was established back in 1912 the name of Cyklop has stood
for innovative strength and production quality. Strapping, stretching, bundling, taping, sealing or
tacking – we develop professional, cost-effective solutions to meet all requirements. The wood,
construction material, metal and synthetic fiber industries, the paper, publishing and printing
sectors, as well as the corrugated cardboard industry are just some of the numerous branches
of industry that we supply with our PET strapping systems.
As one of the first PET strap manufacturers on the European market we have produced over
60,000,000 km of polyester straps since 1978 – that is the equivalent of a strap running round
the equator about 1,500 times. In the light of this high production volume the subject of sustainability
is firmly established in our corporate philosophy. Since the co-establishment of KBV Kunststoffband-Verwertungsgesellschaft
mbH over 20 years ago we have recycled umpteen thousand
tonnes of PET strap. All Cyklop polyester straps are made of recycled raw materials and 100 % of
them can be reused. The Cyklop Premium manufactured at our main plant in Cologne is regarded
as the strongest PET strap on the market. Since recently we have been also offering our customers
individualised printing on our PET straps. That makes them not only unique but also unmistakable.

Cyklop PET straps offer the most ecological and economical strapping method at present for
securing your cargo reliably. As the leading provider of state-of-the-art PET strap technologies
in Europe, Cyklop already recognised the enormous advantages of polyester straps over steel
straps at a very early stage and had a major influence on the development of PET straps.
Nowadays our range of products covers many different types of strap for a very wide field of
applications. The Cyklop PET straps manufactured at our production buildings in Cologne,
including their cardboard core, are fully recyclable. Consequently, you have a clear conscience
when you dispatch your cargo safely.

FIRST CHOICE FOR YOUR CARGO.
with the production of our ecological PET straps Cyklop is making an important contribution
to responsible treatment of the environment. PET (polyethylene terephthalate)
is made from oil and can be entirely reused. Used PET bottles are returned to authorised
recycling companies, where they are sorted by colour and subjected to shredding. The
bottle flakes obtained in this way are then treated in a resource-friendly process to make
new polyester tubing material. For our strap production we use a very special mixture of
selected raw materials that we even partially obtain ourselves in an energy-friendly
recycling process. At our Cologne plant there are several extrusion lines available for
manufacturing top-quality PET straps.
we also assume responsibility for the disposal of used Cyklop PET straps, as a KBV member,
and have them, where agreed, sent to a TÜV-certifi ed recycler, where they are reprocessed.

with our PET straps we opt for safety through holding power. It is a product property that is
particularly important when strapping heavy load units. Cyklop PET straps are efficient application
all-rounders and they are available in three strap qualities. First of all there is our most economical
and competitive strap, Cyklop Premium, which despite its small strap cross-section provides
a very high breaking load. These are distinct advantages when it comes to holding power, safety
and financial aspects. After all, compared to standard qualities, a smaller strap size can be used
at the same breaking load, i.e. there is a solid material saving and costs are reduced.

strapping operations on account of its higher breaking load and optimal strap and edge strength.
The Premium strap, which is made from top-quality granules, is very low on consumption and
offers not only more meters per coil but also greater safety and this continuously. That not only
has an impact on the length of the strap coil but also leads to lower transport and storage costs.
Only a few PET straps available on the market have comparable attributes. In addition, for
production reasons our coils never deviate by more than 2 % from the specification quoted.

It all depends on the specifi cation!
Breaking load is the result of strap cross-section and real thickness. Even slight deviations that
cannot be perceived with the naked eye lead to significant decreases in breaking load, which
means serious consequences for the safety of your cargo in transit. The Cyklop embossing factor is
normally 10 % so it determines real thickness and, like tensile strength, thus also has an influence
on the breaking load of the PET strap.

No matter whether you choose Cyklop Premium for the highest standards, Classic for sharp-edged
loads or PET Flex for manual applications, our three strap types available in various dimensions and
lengths are characterised by the strength typical of Cyklop and offer the appropriate strapping solution
for every application. The special surface embossing achieves better strap feeding and constant
welding properties. The sealing methods available are friction weld, metal clips and thermo welds.
Cyklop Premium, with its tensile strength of 550 N/mm²,
which is unbeatable in the market, is the first strapping choice
for very heavy load units such as printed products, car wheel
rims, plasterboards, metal products, wire coils, and plenty more
besides. Our jumbo coils are available in lengths of up to 8 km.
Cyklop Classic for light and medium applications as well
as sharp-edged products keeps its promise: excellent holding
power. For example, it is suitable for corrugated cardboard,
construction materials, roof tiles, beverage cans, bales of
synthetic fiber and hay, sheet glass in boxes, sawn timber,
metal products, and plenty more besides.
Cyklop PET Flex is available in strap widths from 12 mm to
18.5 mm and is ideal for hand tool strapping operations.

Apart from just a few special applications, Cyklop Premium is far superior to steel strap and
conventional PET straps. Its higher shock reserve absorbs dynamic loads much more effectively.
due to its 11 % elongation tension losses are successfully compensated much more effectively.
Steel strap, on the other hand, fails to recover on account of its low maximum elongation of
1 % – and the load in the cargo space is no longer adequately secured in the event of certain
breaking manoeuvres or jolts.
In addition to a high shock reserve and the resulting improvement in holding power, Cyklop
PET straps also differ considerably from steel on account of their light weight, coil running
time which is seven times longer, and a higher level of occupational safety. Other benefits are:
PET strap does not corrode, is gentle on the packages and so it is also suitable for strapping
sensitive bales of synthetic fibers and cotton.

In order to perfectly derive benefits from the physical material properties of PET straps
the optimal initial tension is just as important as an appropriate combination of hand
tools / systems, strapping heads and strap dimensions. All Cyklop products are perfectly
coordinated with one another in order to increase their cost-effectiveness and provide
your load with maximum securement.
The centrepiece of any strapping system is the strapping head itself – on account of its
innovative intermittent tensioning technology, our robust and powerful CFH-1 strapping
head achieves optimal holding power on the package as a whole.
Modular design that has been proven 1,000 times over, for a very wide range of
strapping operations – our XF and XP strapping systems are provided as standard
with a basic frame, a control, a CFH-1 strapping head, a strap guide and a KA-5 strap
dispenser and can be modified to suit your requirements.
long service lives due to simple strap bobbin change – the Cyklop plastic strap coil
dispenser KA-4 Jumbo dT makes it possible to change the PET Jumbo strap coils
quickly without any additional lifting gear.
Flexible and mobile due to rechargeable battery-operated strapping hand tools –
the CHT 400 hand tool, for example, features a higher level of single-handed operation
convenience, new environmentally-friendly rechargeable battery technology, a touch
display and a high tensioning force of up to 4,000 N. It is a good choice for heavy-duty
and mobile strapping operations.
