Ward, married William Taylorfrom England.Caroline Elizabeth Williams (1908-1988) was an artist who for nearly fifty years had weekly sketches<strong>of</strong> historic or interesting places in the Sunday Cincinnati Enquirer. In many cases, these sketches are allwe have to trigger memories <strong>of</strong> bygone buildings. Her accurate and realistic drawings were collected bymany Cincinnatians. Miss Williams’s father, Carll B. Williams, drew for the Cincinnati Enquirer, andwas the director <strong>of</strong> their art department. The Williams family moved from Covington, Kentucky to<strong>College</strong> <strong>Hill</strong> in 1913 and lived at 1634 Larch Avenue. Paul Briol later moved down the street. When herfather died in 1928, Miss Williams started to free lance her art. Her drawings for the CincinnatiEnquirer started in 1932 when she joined their staff. Miss Williams went to <strong>College</strong> <strong>Hill</strong> School, andHughes High School. She studied art at the University <strong>of</strong> Cincinnati, Cincinnati Art Academy, theSorbonne in Paris, France and in New York. The family later moved to 1750 Cedar Avenue where hermother, Mary Teal Williams, operated a boarding house with their unused rooms. In the 1950’s shemoved, along with her mother, to a log cabin in Burlington, Kentucky. It was here that she printed many<strong>of</strong> her books and sketches.
