Millet- Chancellor, Governor Rhodes, and the University Board of Trustees a committee was formed anda fund raising company brought in to raise a million dollars as a nucleus. This was done with dispatch andthe building of a campus was started on the old landfill site between Nielan and Peck Blvds. The site wasselected by me and Mayor Kindness after exploring many possibilities. It was the only one centrallylocated that fit the planned budget. The first two buildings were Mosler Hall and Rentschler Librarydedicated in 1968. The technical and auditorium building was dedicated in 1970.I retired in 1972 after 39 years in education, most of which was in administration.In 1943 I married Caroline Slack, also a Miami U. graduate, who was a teacher of history inRoosevelt Junior High school in Hamilton, Ohio. Miami U.presented him an honorary doctor of laws degree in 1973. His first wife died in 1981 and he marriedGalen Glascow, who passed away in 2005.
