nolan company headquartersWayzata, MNCommercial meets commercial:catering to a contracting business’s needsNine-foot-tall doors. Limestone-slab construction. Special colors. The Nolan Company had a long list of specialized needswhen they decided to build a second phase to their office complex. But with Marvin Window and Doors’ equally long list ofcapabilities, the commercial contracting company was able to make their ambitious vision come true. Both new and customized products made Marvin a perfect fit. “Limestone slabs come in very particular dimensions,”commented Dale Loeffler, Marvin sales rep. “Our new Ultimate Casement window offered the flexibility to line up with 6’ rockslabs—or with 2’ or 3’ foot increments. And since we have made-to-order sizes, we were able to provide the fit without goingto custom sizing.” Two clad colors—Bronze and Hampton Sage—completed the made-to-order appearance. But as these twocolors are standard offerings in the Marvin line, a custom look was easy to acheive. On the interior, a top-quality full-grain wood look was requested. To maximize the project’s budget, Vertical Grain DouglasFir wood was used in the largest, flattest elements of the interior: the 9 1/2”-deep extension jambs surrounding the windows.Variable Grain Douglas Fir was then used for the smaller elements, such as window sash and stops. The result: An impressive, upgraded interior look with the rich warmth of Douglas Fir.PROJECT HIGHLIGHTSüüClad Ultimate Casements sized to exacting limestone-construction dimensionsSPECSBuilding TypeüüCombination Variable and Vertical Grain Douglas Fir wood to enhanceinteriorsüü9’-tall French Doors offering an expansive view of nearby Lake MinnetonkaNew ConstructionUnits and ApplicationsClad Ultimate CasementsClad Ultimate Outswing and Inswing FrenchDoorsARCHITECTElness, Swenson and GrahamCONTRACTORNolan CompanyDEALERLampert Yards© 2010 Marvin Windows and Doors.
