The LightHiveLightHive was a lighting installation designed by Alex Haw of Atmos in collaboration with ArupLighting. It was commissioned by the Architectural Association. It mapped the exact positionof every significant light source in the 5 addresses, 5 storeys and 160 rooms of the institution’shome in Bedford Square, London. Florence Lam, Director with ArupFlorence Lam is the leader of the Arup Lighting group in London, and has been responsible on a wide range of creativeand well-executed interior and exterior projects in the UK, Europe, the US and the Far East.Florence’s particular interests in visual perception and natural lighting have played key roles in many of herinnovative design solution on projects, in particular with the museums and galleries sector on an international scale,such as Tate Modern in London, Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and the NewAcropolis Museum in Athens.She also has a strong interest in visual light art as a lighting designer and has worked with a number of artists/architectsin creating public art installation integrated with light.
