Con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment carried out by Designated bodyRulebook, in Annex 4 prescribes that con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment body may conduct or participate inthe con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment <strong>of</strong> equipment, only if it meets the requirements <strong>for</strong> designation laid down inAnnex 6 <strong>of</strong> the Rulebook, and if it is designated by the competent minister in accordance with the Lawon technical requirements <strong>for</strong> products and con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment and Regulation on the manner <strong>of</strong>designation and authorization <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment bodies ("Official Gazette <strong>of</strong> RS", No. 98/09).Declaration confirming con<strong>for</strong>mity <strong>of</strong> equipment with requirements from the Rulebook, asa type <strong>of</strong> document <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mityActivities <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment that, in accordance with the Rulebook, are per<strong>for</strong>med by thedesignated body refer to review <strong>of</strong> technical documentation and assessment, based on the conductedexamination whether the technical documentation confirms fulfilment <strong>of</strong> the requirements from theRulebook.If compliance is confirmed, the designated body makes Declaration <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity confirmingcompliance <strong>of</strong> equipment in subject with the requirements <strong>of</strong> the Rulebook.Con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment per<strong>for</strong>med in an abovementioned manner, that is, in which the designatedbody takes part is not mandatory in terms <strong>of</strong> the Rulebook, but voluntary and depends on the will andneeds <strong>of</strong> the manufacturers. Namely, by choice and upon request <strong>of</strong> equipment manufacturer or hisagent, prior to placing the equipment on the market and/or putting into use, the designated body carriesout con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment <strong>of</strong> equipment with the requirements from this Rulebook. Aspects <strong>of</strong>essential requirements that need to be assessed are stated in the request. Declaration <strong>of</strong> Con<strong>for</strong>mityissued by, or drawn up by notified body is limited to those aspects <strong>of</strong> the essential requirements thatdesignated body has assessed. This declaration, the manufacturer or his agent encloses with technicaldocumentation <strong>of</strong> equipment in subject and it does not represent a document that accompanies theproduct on the market.Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity, as a type <strong>of</strong> document <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mityConfirmation <strong>of</strong> Con<strong>for</strong>mity (an extract from the register <strong>of</strong> issued certificates) shall be appliedin the legal system <strong>of</strong> the Republic <strong>of</strong> Serbia until entry into <strong>for</strong>ce <strong>of</strong> ratified International Agreementon Con<strong>for</strong>mity Assessment and Acceptance <strong>of</strong> Industrial Products with the European Union - ACAA(Agreement on Con<strong>for</strong>mity Assessment and Acceptance <strong>of</strong> Industrial Products) in part relating to themachinery covered by the Rulebook, and not later than the accession <strong>of</strong> Serbia to the European Union.Who issues Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity?Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity can be issued at request <strong>of</strong> different economic operators. Request can besubmitted by <strong>for</strong>eign or domestic manufacturer, representative, branch <strong>of</strong>fice or representative <strong>of</strong> <strong>for</strong>eignmanufacturer or importer.15
