By asserting its commitment to promoting better workingconditions globally, ong>theong> EU puts out a strong statement against safety dumping on aglobal scale. The European Strategy is one element ong>ofong> ong>theong> EU’s work at ong>theong> globalscale for improving cooperation on OSH issues and it substantially increases ong>theong>credibility ong>ofong> ong>theong> EU in influencing ong>theong> debate on ong>theong> international stage. This is why ong>theong> international dimension ong>ofong> ong>theong> EU’s action in ong>theong> field ong>ofong>occupational health and safety should be part ong>ofong> any future strategic document butshould not necessarily constitute a separate strategic objective. Internationalcooperation is both a means to ensure that ong>theong> gap between ong>theong> protection levels inong>theong> EU and in oong>theong>r countries closes and that ong>theong> EU does not export its badworking conditions abroad and simply a principle ong>ofong> ong>theong> European Union tocontinually fight to improve working conditions all over ong>theong> world.http://projects.cowiportal.com/ps/A019055/Documents/3 Project documents/Interim and final report/Final report October 2012/OSH ong>evaluationong>-report_Final_submitted 14 March2013.docx
