Indian Institute of ScienceCEDTWorking ong>withong> Code Composer Studio on LinuxUsing the XDS-100 JTAG Debugger ong>andong> a TMS320F2812 TargetThis document assumes that you have successfully installed ong>andong> configured ong>CCSv5ong> ong>andong> eclipseas mentioned here.1. Start CCS using either the desktop launcher or the Programs menu item. Alternativelystart it from the commong>andong> line using /ccsv5/eclipse/eclipseYou do not need to run this as root or superuser. Note, also, that eclipse is an opensource IDE - not a compiler or debugger at all. TI CCS uses the eclipse IDE as thefrontend for all its compile, build ong>andong> debug tools.2. When eclipse starts up it asks for a default workspace. The workspace is a directory inwhich all your project files are going to be saved. A good idea is to use a directory inyour home directory. e.g. You can use /home/username/ccsworkspace/ If the directorydos not exist it get created automatically.Figure 1: Workspace LaunchAbhijit Kshirsagar 1/8 January 18, 2011
