Configuring FTS OptionsTable 4-2 Effects of FTS Search Options for Accrue Operations (3 of 3)SearchOptionSearchTermUsedServerInterpretationAR SystemRequestsRetrievedSearch PerformanceResultsQueryUnchanged(default)turn, turn, Any requests thatmatch the search%turn, %turn, string.Depends on the wildcards specified by theuser.turn%,turn%,%turn%,%turn%,The QBE Match setting in the Field Properties window affects the searchterms interpreted by the server. For example, if QBE Match is set toAnywhere, additional wild cards are added to your search term (perhapscreating unexpected results in QBE searches).Do not set QBE Match to Equal if a field is indexed for FTS. If the QBE Matchis set to Equal, FTS options have no effect on the search. For example, if theCity field is indexed for FTS, and FTS options are set to Force Leading andTrailing Wildcards, a search for Atlanta on this field would return requestswith Atlanta and Atlanta, GA. If the City field also has a QBE Match settingof Equal, the same search would return only those requests containingAtlanta, and ignore all requests containing Atlanta, GA.Nonaccrue SearchesThe information in Table 4-2 about how the server interprets wild cards alsoapplies to nonaccrue searches; however, the FTS engine searches the contentsof all AR System requests indexed for that field. As a result, if you enter thesearch string turn and the server does not add or remove wild cards, you findexact matches if the only data in the request is turn. However, if you enteredturn%, you would retrieve requests with the following:■■■turn leftturnedturned leftFull Text Search 4-25
