Admin. Guide Vol. 2 - NC State Remedy Implementation

FullText-threshold-high:The threshold value for not performing a complex search that requires asearch on an FTS indexed field (applicable for SQL databases only).Temporary tables are used when the number of FTS matches reaches orexceeds the value specified for the FullText-threshold-low option. Largetable operations can degrade database server performance. If the total numberof rows (when the temporary and data tables are joined) is greater than thisvalue, the AR System does not perform the search. In this case, the systemdisplays a message stating that the search is too complex. If a search involvesmultiple FTS operations, the number of matches for each operation ismultiplied to determine the total number of rows. Because large three-wayjoins usually time out, the value for this option must be less than the square ofthe FullText-threshold-low value. The default value is 1,000,000.Informix-DBServer-Name:The name of the server where the underlying database is located (applicablefor INFORMIX databases only).Informix-TBConfig:The name of the configuration file for the underlying database (applicable forINFORMIX databases only). The default name is onconfig.License-Timeout:The number of hours the AR System server waits before disconnectinginactive users. If a user is holding a floating write license token, the systemalso frees the token at this time.List-Specific-Port:The specific TCP port to use for list server processes. The first list serverstarted uses the specified port. If additional list servers are started, they areassigned to the next sequential ports. The list servers are randomly assignedto available ports if you do not specify this option.MailNotifyDir:Windows NT only: Indicates the full path name for the mailntfy directory thatholds all of the email notifications the server sends to the armailex service. The armailex service deletes them after they are processed. The default valueis \arserver\mailntfy.A-10 Action Request System Administrator’s Guide, Volume 2

ar.conf (ar.cfg)Max-Entries-Per-Query:The maximum number of requests returned by a single search. Because userscan also specify the maximum number of requests returned (through SearchPreferences), the actual maximum is the lower of these two values. Thedefault value is no (server-defined) maximum.Max-Fast-Daemons:The maximum number of fast servers allowed (requires the Multi-ProcessingServer feature). Fast servers perform short, nonblocking database operations. They do not perform database searches. Valid values for this option are 0through 15. The default value is 0 (no fast servers).Max-List-Daemons:The maximum number of list servers allowed (requires the Multi-ProcessingServer feature). List servers perform blocking database operations, includingdatabase searches. These operations may result in short or long server blocks.Valid values for this option are 0 through 35. The default value is 0 (no listservers).Notifier-Specific-Port:The specific TCP port to use for the notification process. The notificationserver is randomly assigned to an available port if you do not specify thisoption.Oracle-SID:The system ID for the underlying database (applicable for Oracle databasesonly).Oracle-Two-Task:The two-task environment setting for the underlying database (applicable forOracle databases only).Private-RPC-Socket:The specific RPC program number to use for a private server process. You canspecify multiple instances of this option to start additional private servers. You can also specify a TCP port to use by adding the stringPrivate-Specific-Port: followed by the port number at the end of thisoption. Private servers are randomly assigned to available ports if you do notspecify the Private-Specific-Port option. Valid values for this option are390680 through 390694.AR System Configuration Files A-11
