LEVEL 4 – DISCIPLINE RESPONSE CODELevel 4 offenses are those of the most serious category. Any of these acts committed shall besufficient grounds for recommendation for expulsion, and may result in a suspension of up to ten dayswith recommendation for expulsion. Such offenses may occur in a classroom, during a school function,extracurricular/co-curricular program or on approved transportation. All Level 4 Offenses must be heardby the Placement Review Committee regardless of the recommendation made by the Principal ordesignee.Level 4 offenses must be reported immediately to the school administrator/designee and may result inimmediate removal of the student from the school and referral to appropriate law enforcement agency.Level 4 offenses may result in the loss of bus riding privileges for the remainder of the semester. If lessthan 10 days remain, the suspension will carry over to the next semester. A parental conference withtransportation and a school administrator is mandatory. A loss of bus riding privileges for more than 10days must be authorized by the Superintendent.The Principal/Designee, after review of the student’s explanation, investigation, and appropriateintervention(s), will determine the appropriate disciplinary action.* Reports as a SESIRA4* Alcohol Using, selling, possessing, distributing or beingunder the influence of alcoholic beverages. Theterm alcoholic beverage means distilled spiritsand all beverages containing 0.5 percent or morealcohol by volume, including, wine, spirituousliquors, and beer and other malt beverages.B4* Arson The willful malicious burning of or attempt to burnor use incendiary device to destroy schoolsystem property, contents in or on the property,or personal property of others. Includesfirecrackers, fireworks, and trash can fire ifcontributing factors to a damaging fire.C4* Assault/Intimidation/Threatof Employee or OtherAdultAn intentional threat by word or act to do physicalharm to a school employee or other adult,coupled with an apparent ability to do so; anintentional threat by word or act to use deadlyforce against a school employee or other adult,whether or not the student has the apparentability to use such force.22
