SAFETY DATA SHEETThis safety data sheet is prepared in accordance with EU directive 91/155/EC amended by directive2001/58/EC.SIGMADUR 520/550 HARDENERMSDS UK 01 / EN Version 1.3 Print Date 3/30/2007Revision date 17-03-07xylenecan be absorbed through skin1330-20-7 22144250100EU ELV TWAEU ELV STELethylbenzenecan be absorbed through skin100-41-4 442884100200EU ELV TWAEU ELV STEL2-methoxy-1-methylethyl acetatecan be absorbed through skin108-65-6 27555050100EU ELV TWAEU ELV STELPersonal protective equipmentGeneral adviceRespiratory protection : When operators, whether spraying or not, have to work inside the spraybooth, ventilation is unlikly to be sufficient to control particulates and solventvapour in all cases. In such circumstances they should wear a compressed airfedrespirator during the spraying process and until such time as theparticulates and solvent vapour concentration has fallen below the exposurelimits. Under cool dry conditions, it is possible for the isocyanate to remainunreacted in the paint film for up to 30 hours after application. If dry flattingis unavoidable air fed respiratory protective equipment should be used.Hand protection : For prolonged or repeated contact use protective gloves.Barrier creams may help to protect the exposed areas of skin, they shouldhowever not be applied once exposure has occurred.Skin should be washed after contact.Use chemical resistant gloves classified under Standard EN 374: Protectivegloves against chemicals and micro-organisms.Recommended gloves: butyl-rubberMinimum breakthrough time: 480 minThe recommended gloves are based on most common solvent in this product. When prolonged or frequently repeated contact may occur, a glove with aprotection class of 6 (breakthrough time greater than 480 minutes accordingto EN 374) is recommended. When only brief contact is expected, a glovewith a protection class of 2 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 30minutes according to EN 374) is recommended.NOTICE: The selection of a specific glove for a particular application andduration of use in a workplace should also take into account all relevantworkplace factors such as, but not limited to: Other chemicals which may behandled, physicalrequirements (cut/puncture protection, dexterity, thermalprotection), potential body reactions to glovematerials, as wellas theinstructions/specifications provided by the glove supplier.Eye protection : Chemical resistant goggles must be worn.Skin and body protection : Personnel should wear protective clothing. Skin should be washed aftercontact. Working clothes must not consist of textiles, which show adangerous melting behaviour in case of fire. Workers should wear antistaticfootwear.Additional adviceEnvironmental protection : Refer to national regulations in chapter 15 for regulations on environmentalprotection.Personal protectionProtective equipment : Enclosing glasses, safety gloves and P2A2 half-face combi maskPlease contact your personal protection equipment supplier for further advice4/8

SAFETY DATA SHEETThis safety data sheet is prepared in accordance with EU directive 91/155/EC amended by directive2001/58/EC.SIGMADUR 520/550 HARDENERMSDS UK 01 / EN Version 1.3 Print Date 3/30/2007Revision date 17-03-079. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIESForm : liquidColour :Odour : slight aromaticFlash point : 40.8 °CNote: see user defined free textAutoignition temperature : > 280 °CUpper explosion limit : 8.6 %(V)Lower explosion limit : 1.2 %(V)Density : 1.07 g/cm3at 20 °CWater solubility : insolublepH : not applicableViscosity, dynamic : 250 mPa.s at 23 °C10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITYConditions to avoid : Avoid temperatures above 60°C (140 F), direct sunlight and contact withsources of heat.Hazardous reactions : Keep away from oxidising agents, strongly alkaline and strongly acidmaterials in order to avoid exothermic reactions.Avoid moisture.Amines andalcohols cause exothermic reactions.Preparation reacts slowly with waterresulting in evolution of CO2.Evolution of CO2 in closed containers causesoverpressure and produces a risk of bursting.Hazardous decompositionproductsFull cure after : 5 - 8 h: In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as:Carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxides of nitrogen (NOx),dense black smoke.11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATIONAcute oral toxicity : May cause nausea, abdominal spasms and irritation of the mucousmembranes.Acute inhalation toxicity : Exposure to component solvent vapours concentration in excess of the statedoccupational exposure limit may result in adverse health effects. Such as:mucous membrane irritation, respiratory system irritation, adverse effects onkidney, liver and central nervous system. Symptoms and signs: headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscular weakness, drowsiness and in extreme cases lossof consciousness. Isocyanates may cause acute irritation and/or sensitisationof the respiratory system leading to tightness of the chest, wheeziness and anasthmatic condition.Skin irritation : Repeated or prolonged contact with the preparation may cause removal ofnatural fat from the skin resulting in desiccation of the skin. The product maybe absorbed through the skin.Eye contact : The liquid splashed in the eyes may cause irritation and reversible damage.Further information : There is no data available for this product.5/8
