The girls’ education

The girls’ education movement is a powerful one thathas benefited from decades of advocacy and progress,as well as broad-based support. Its remainingbarriers are the most challenging ones, including howto improve the quality of education so that familiesare more likely to invest in school for both girls andboys. As funders tackle these obstacles to girls’ educationand learning, cross-disciplinary approaches,innovative programs and imaginative partnershipscan leverage the resources available today and buildmomentum for tomorrow.40 GLOBAL ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
