206 OAMP strategies and

206 OAMP strategies and fundamentalsLDAP Synchronization includes the following options:• Server Configuration—configures the primary and secondary LDAPsync servers that the system will communicate with.• Schema Configuration—configures schema that the system will use tocreate users when synchronizing with an LDAP version 3 server.• User Defaults—configures the defaults for new users. The defaultsinclude– User Password– Class of Service– Status Reason– Time Zone– LocaleThe default values depend on what is already provisioned for thedomain.• Synchronization Scheduler—automatically schedules synchronizationof the user database with an LDAP version 3 server. The administratorcan also schedule an immediate synchronization.• Query Test Tool—verifies that the system is configured correctly toconnect to an LDAP version 3 server by allowing the administrator toinitiate a query.Server configurationThe LDAP sync server configuration page allows for the configuration of• IP address and port of primary and secondary LDAP sync server tocommunicate with• UserID and password of the LDAP sync server, if necessary, forquerying the server. Select the LDAP sync server logical name fromthe drop-down list.• Connect to LDAP sync server with a secure socket through SecureSocket Layer (SSL) or through a normal TCP socket.Note that the SSL field is for future use. Entering a check mark in thisfield will cause failure of scheduled synchronization or synchronizationnow. The SSL field is for future use. Selecting this field causes failure ofscheduled or immediate synchronization.15 August 2014 EXPERiUS Application Server NN48111-111 09.02Copyright © 2010-2014 GENBAND. All Rights Reserved.

Provisioning fundamentals 207The certificate must be imported to the JVM through the keytoolexecutable available as part of the Sun JRE.Schema configurationSchema configuration option enables you to configure the followingschema that the system uses from the LDAP sync server for creating newusers:• Distinguished Name Info—A Distinguished Name (DN) is used todistinguish one entry in an LDAP sync database from another as in thefollowing example of an entry whose userid is joeb:dn: uid=joeb, ou=Internal,ou=People,o=ABCThe uid field is part of the RDN for this particular entry. The uid fieldmust be different for every user in the domain. See the following figurethat provides LDAP Distinguished name.Configuring a domain on the system creates the first portion of the DN,o=domain name. The LDAP Distinguished Name o=domain name ispresent by default. MCP administrators can refine their searches byincluding other attributes, such as organizational unit (ou). Forinstance, ou=people and ou=external could be included in the dn tofurther refine the entries in the LDAP sync database that will be used tocreate users. This would in effect limit the synchronization to the dottedlined portion of the LDAP sync database. The LDAP DistinguishedName field would now contain these additional parameters, separatedby spaces:Configuring a domain on the system creates the first portion of the DN,o=domain name.
