Cross Dock –Local SuppliersIntroduction to Electronic Trading with Harris ScarfeHarris Scarfe is committed to working with our suppliers to best service our customer’srequirements in the most cost effective, efficient and timely manner.To achieve this, Harris Scarfe requires that all deliveries to our Cross Dock DC’s be compliant to ourelectronic trading standards. This means that each supplier needs to be technically accredited totrade with us via EDI and invest in the required infrastructure or outsourcing to achieve this.At a high level, this means that Harris Scarfe will electronically transmit orders via EDI from oursystems centrally, to each supplier or their agents and we expect each supplier /agent to supply thegoods packed and labelled as per our requirements and with each delivery preceded by anelectronic shipping notice .Harris Scarfe DC’s will then process each delivery electronically and send consolidated requirementsto our store on your behalf, all of this processing and dispatch is managed electronically on apaperless basis..Longer term, Harris Scarfe will further develop our current electronic trading platform to cater forelectronic payment systems and processes to replace the current manual invoice requirement.New local suppliers to Harris Scarfe can meet our Electronic Trading requirements by-1. Investing in the required electronic trading infrastructure to meet Harris Scarfesrequirements directly.2. Work with Electronic trading partners to meet our requirements.3. Outsource the electronic trading and logistics delivery process entirely to a 3PP who meetsour requirements.4.
