Tech-noteFigure 2The CT Modbus CMP ETH driver supports three different protocol types:- none- CTNet- EthernetThe protocol type can be selected from the “Routing Type” combo box in the dialog.Figure 3ptn0410-0.doc - 28.03.2013Control Techniques Unidrive - Modbus CMP Ethernet Driver for JMobile 6

Tech-noteSome of the parameters of the dialog are common to all the protocol types, some others are specific. The parameters common to all protocol types are the following:Modbus ID Slave NrSlot NrIP addressPortRouting typeRouting CTNode IDRouting IP AddressRouting PortRouting Slave IDDestination PortDestination SubnodePLC NetworkPLC ModelValid slave node addresses are 1 through 247. In the request from theprotocol master this value indicates the target slave node. This value gives the option slot to which the message is directed. Theport/slot mapping is as follows:Port Message addressed to1 Option in slot 12 Option in slot 23 Option in slot 3Ethernet IP address of the controllerAllows to change the default port number used by the Modbus TCPdriver; it could be useful whenever the communication goes throughRouters or Internet gateways where the default port number is alreadyin use. Default value for this parameter is 502The FC64 encapsulated protocol includes extra destination fields to beused for message routing between nodes on different networks. Thecombination of CMP destination port and CMP destination subnodeaddress or subnode addressing scheme fields, allows a Modbus TCPserver to decide whether to process a received message or retransmitthe message through another port onto a different communicationsnetwork.User can select one of the following routing methods:None means that the communication will be established directlyto the drive. The message is directed to a drive or to anoption in the drive, and there is no routing onto asubnetwork to be performed.CTNet users can enter CTNet node number which represents thedrive in the subnetwork.Ethernet SM-Ethernet modules will provide the capability to reroutemessages on Ethernet. When Ethernet routing method has been selected, you have to enterRouting IP Address, Routing port, Routing Slave ID, Destination Portand Destination Subnode of the drive you want to connect. For moreinformation on routing, please check the drive user's manual or CTModbus specification. The protocol allows the connection of multiple drives to one operatorpanel. To set-up multiple connections, check “PLC Network” checkboxand enter parameters for each drive you want to connect.Selection of device models that may affect operation of the protocol.Currently only one model is availableptn0410-0.doc - 28.03.2013Control Techniques Unidrive - Modbus CMP Ethernet Driver for JMobile 7
