If you wish tobecome a successful author and make a career as a writer, you mustcreate good content and be able to develop an audience. In today’scompetitive marketplace it is critical that writers view their work andpublications as a business. Book publishers are not in the business oftaking care of writers, they are in the business of marketing content and selling books.Regardless of how you publish, your writing must be considered a product that is insearch of an audience. Every decision you make, from marketing to pricing and designshould center on the idea of creating an audience that is interested in reading your work.Big publishers market a mile wide and one inch deep. As an author you need to marketyourself and your writing an inch wide and mile deep.
