MessageMessage from Secretary General of the Consortium of ThaiMedical SchoolsProfessor Avudh SrisukriOn behalf of the Consortium of ThaiMedical Schools, I would like tocongratulate the South East AsianRegional Association for MedicalEducation (SEARAME) for anothersuccessful movement by launching thefirst issue of this journal. This journal isbased on the Journal of Medical Educationof Thailand (J MED EDUC THAI). TheConsortium of Thai Medical Schoolsestablished the J MED EDUC THAI in2005. Our main objective was todisseminate the knowledge and researchfindings among medical educators. Wedecided to use English language soeducators outside the Kingdom ofThailand can gain benefits from the J MEDEDUC THAI. The objective seemed to bequite fruitful. During the past few years wereceived manuscripts from medicaleducators and educationalists working inseveral countries including countriesoutside Asian continent. Being the officialjournal of SEARAME is another importantstep to achieve our primary objective. It isno doubt that being a part of SEARAMEactivities, this journal will reach morereaders especially in the countries in thisregion.Another big change about the Journal isthe publishing process. When we firstestablished the J MED EDUC THAI, weplanned to make it only as an electronicjournal. However, to better serve thereaders in the areas with less access toinformation technology equipments, theSouth East Asian Journal of MedicalEducation (SEAJME) is also published asa hard copy. This process is madepossible by the generous support fromWHO-SEARO. We gratefully thank themfor this.Finally, I would like to take this opportunityto thank SEARAME in giving us a chanceto join this endeavor.
