These include, ink thickness, substrate choice andthe print speed.Colour and outdoor durabilityThe highest quality pigments have been chosen for theirsuper-wide colour gamut maximising the range ofcolours achievable.Accelerated weathering tests have been carried out in aXenon Arc weatherometer set to the SAEJ 1960 standard.Under these conditions the accelerated weathering ofSeries 180 KG inks equate to approximately 24 monthsoutdoor exposure in a temperate climate such as the UK.Chemical and Abrasion ResistanceSeries 180 KG inks have good chemical and abrasionresistance. However, for optimum resistance it isrecommended to over-varnish or laminate prints toprotect the surface from chemical attack.PlasticsCertain plastics may be impregnated with lubricants, which may impair adhesion and block resistance even aconsiderable period of time after printing. It is normal for Banner Grade PVC to be highly plasticised, which over time migrates to the surface significantlyreducing the ink adhesion level. This problem can beovercome by wiping the surface with white spirit beforeprinting.Head WarrantySericol warrant that Series 180 KG inks have beenformulated to be compatible with the ink supply systemof the Scitex Grandjet and XLjet press and will notcause damage to the print heads providing these inks areused in accordance with Scitex’s own operating andservicing recommendations and Sericol’s ink storageconditions. If Sericol inks are proven to be the cause of a breakdown, then Sericol will replace the defective parts. In the case of a claim, any defective part will be subject toanalysis in our technical service laboratory to determinethe cause and extent of damage due to ink performance. This warranty is in addition to that set out in Sericol’sstandard terms and conditions of supply.
