About the glaucoma module<strong>The</strong> module will cover the theoretical knowledgeneeded to detect and manage this eye disease. It willcover the structural and functional losses seen inglaucoma and the therapeutic options. Emphasis willbe placed on the instrumentation and techniquesused in management and their theoretical basis/mode<strong>of</strong> operation. It is intended that those who graduatefrom this unit will have an advanced knowledge <strong>of</strong>this condition with a practical understanding <strong>of</strong> thelatest methods <strong>of</strong> detection and management<strong>The</strong> <strong>Module</strong> draws upon the expertise <strong>of</strong> a largenumber <strong>of</strong> academic and clinically qualified staffwithin the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Manchester and ManchesterRoyal Eye Hospital.Successful completion <strong>of</strong> the glaucoma module canform part <strong>of</strong> an MSc in Investigative Ophthalmology &Vision Sciences.
