<strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong> <strong>College</strong>Equine StudiesDepartmentDear Friends,We are pleased to present the <strong>14th</strong> annual VI <strong>Classic</strong>, a U.S. Equestrian FederationA-rated hunter/jumper show at the <strong>Virginia</strong> Horse Center. Each year, the <strong>Classic</strong>attracts 300 to 400 competitors from throughout the Southeast. The four-day eventalso serves as a training tool for students in <strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong>'s Equine Studiesprogram, providing them the opportunity to work in all aspects of the event. Thisvaluable hands-on experience often results in students obtaining internships, summerpositions or full-time work in the horse industry.<strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong>’s Equine Studies and Riding program continues to be recognizedas one of the top in the country, having won 15 national championships since2001, including the Tournament of Champions Series, IHSA, IDA and ANRCchampionships.<strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong> <strong>College</strong> offers sponsorship opportunities to corporations, alumniand friends who wish to promote the horse industry and also advance the role ofthe <strong>College</strong> in preparing students for equine-related careers.
