Contingency Management
Contingency management maintains that the form or
frequency of behavior can be altered through a
planned and organized system of positive and negative
consequences (Higgins et al., 1986). Contingency
environmental factors influence substance use
behaviors and that the consistent application of
reinforcing environmental consequences can change
these behaviors.
