The Inception of LCFIP• Launched on 08 December 2011 by the Prime Minister.• Derived as part of the PEMANDU initiative on Connectivity under theLangkawi Tourism Blueprint.• Joint collaboration between Langkawi Development Authority (LADA),Tourism Malaysia (TM), Northern Corridor Implementation Authority(NCIA) and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) with the support ofthe Economic Planning Unit (EPU).
The Objective of LCFIPTo provide lead charterers with a fund to support promotional initiativesundertaken by the charterers to bring passengers into Langkawi.The Duration of LCFIPThe programme will be applicable for four years from 01 January 2012 to31 December 2015.
Programme DescriptionThe LCFIP comprises of two schemes which are productivity driven andsupportive in nature.Passenger Reward Scheme• Reward provided to lead charterer upon successfully bringing inpassengers into Langkawi.• USD 10 per inbound passenger.Marketing Support Scheme• Marketing Support Fund provided to assist lead charterer in promotingLangkawi as a tour destination.• 2 types of schemes based on the duration of charter programme:a) Short - term charterb) Long - term charter
Entitlement Assessment Process• All lead charterers are required to submit to Malaysia Airports, aRegistration Form declaring its planned charter programme annually priorto the commencement of the charter operations.• All lead charterers are required to submit an Application Form annuallywithin the duration of the charter programme to Malaysia Airports toavail the benefits of the LCFIP.
