Mum! Did you hear the news? Pharaoh is going todestroy all the baby boys. What are we going to do?It will be alright. We can hide your little brother here, no onewill notice.They say the soldiers are going to search all the houses. It’snot safe here.That Pharaoh is just a coward!You can’t say that!I can and I just did. He’s only scared.What of? He is the most powerful man alive.The Hebrew men are a powerful force and there are a lot ofthem. Pharaoh is feeling threatened.That they could overthrow him?Something like that.Well I wish they wouldCome, talking like this is not going to help your brother.SONG THREE - HUSH NOW MOSES(The mother and daughter take their baby down to the river and hide himin the reeds. Further down the river the Pharaohs daughter discoversthe baby.)[In the instrumental music we see the Princess playing with hermaidservants. Scene FourThe PalaceStoryteller 1:Storyteller 2:Storyteller 3:Storyteller 4:Storyteller 5:<strong>Moses</strong>:Guard 1:<strong>Moses</strong>:Guard:<strong>Moses</strong>:Guard:<strong>Moses</strong>:But life was not always straightforward for young <strong>Moses</strong>.There was a lot of suffering in Egypt at this time and <strong>Moses</strong>felt the pain of it.He could never forget his mother’s parting words, “neverforget where you are from.”How could he stand back and allow His people to be bulliedand treated as they were.But he was also thought of as the Pharaoh’s son and hisloyalties were split.Guards, come here!Yes your majesty.What is the situation like with the slaves now?There has been terrible trouble. The Hebrews are rebellingagainst everything the Pharaoh stands for. His blood boiled as he realised he couldso easily be that man had the Princess not have found himall those years ago.<strong>Moses</strong> lost control of his senses and turned on the Egyptian.There was much fighting and chaos and then everythingwent quiet.What have I done? Oh Lord why have you forsaken me?There was nothing for it but to run to get far away.If Pharaoh found out <strong>Moses</strong> had killed an Egyptian, <strong>Moses</strong>would surely be killed too.He ran and ran until he was wayout in the desert: Alone,afraid and deserted.SONG SIX - A DESERTED LIFEStoryteller 4:Storyteller 5:Storyteller 1:Storyteller 2:<strong>Moses</strong> spent many years in the desert.
