Codes and Standards: Comply with the provisions of the following codes and standards,except as otherwise indicated or specified:B. AISI "Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members".C. ASCE 3 "Specification for the Design and Construction of <strong>Composite</strong> Slabs".D. AWS "Structural Welding Code".E. SDI "Design Manual for Floor Decks and Roof Decks".F. Qualifications of installers: For actual installation of the composite metal floor deck, useonly personnel who are thoroughly trained and experienced in installation of the selectedproducts and who are completely familiar with the requirements of this work.G. All work shall be in compliance with the latest editions of the codes and specificationsand requirements of the "Steel Deck Institute", and "Code for Welding in BuildingConstruction" of the American Welding Society.H. Provide composite floor deck units listed in UL's "Fire Resistance Directory", with eachdeck unit bearing the UL label and marking for the specific system detailed.I. Qualification of Field Welding: Qualify welding processes and welding operators inaccordance with AWS "Standard Qualification Procedure".1.02 SUBMITTALS:A. Shop Drawings: All sizes, locations and marking of decking units and gauge of metal.Sizes of holes to be cut in the shop. Types of end closures and fittings. All methods ofsecuring, anchoring and attaching to structural members. All welds shall be indicated byA.W.S. "welding symbols" 2.0.1.03 PRODUCT HANDLINGA. Use all means necessary to protect the work of this section before, during and afterinstallation and to protect the installed work and materials of all other trades. Storematerials above ground and protect from corrosion.PART 2 - PRODUCTS2.01 MATERIALSA. Detented <strong>Composite</strong> Deck: steel conforming to ASTM A653/A653M, galvanized perG60. Corrugation pitch shall be minimum of 12 inches and minimum depth shall be 2inches. Provide additional slab reinforcing aroundopenings per typical details.G. Temporary Supports will not be required for multi-span conditions. One row of supportsat center of span will be required for single span conditions with span greater than 8'-0"or where otherwise noted on drawings.H. Provide light gauge pour stop to form slab edge at perimeter of deck and at all shafts,openings, and penetrations through deck unless noted otherwise on drawings. Sizepourstop per Steel Deck Institute recommendations.I. All phases of steel deck construction should be in keeping with good constructionpractice. Concentrated construction loads, impact loads, and concentrated traffic andstorage areas require special care for the protection of the steel deck and to preventexceeding the specified allowable stresses.J. Touch-Up Painting: After decking installation, wire brush and clean scarred areas.
