The three-step tensionstyle chain jack cycle:1The chain is held in the fixedchain stopper latches and as thetraveling crossarm is extended, itslatches ratchet open.The Bardex Chain Jack Operating Sequence2At its fullest extension, thetraveling latches close and as the liftcylinders are energized, thetraveling latches engage the chainand the traveling crossarm is raisedfurther, the full chain tension will betransferred automatically from thefixed chain stopper latches to thetraveling latches.LIFT/LOWER CYLINDERSCONTROL CONSOLEFIXED STOPPER3The fixed latches ratchet openas chain passes through until at thehighest extent of the travelingcrossarm, the fixed latches will closeand as the traveling crossarm islowered the chain will lower into thefixed latches and chain tension willautomatically transfer from thetraveling latches to the fixed latches.LATCHES (TYPICAL)Hydraulic ChainJack AssemblyTRAVELING CROSSARMBardex Chain Jacks provide a compact and lightweight means of tensioning very large loads inmooring chains for permanently moored vessels such as Spars, Semi-submersibles, SALM / CALM buoys,and FPSOs.
