This venerable lady wasdaughter of the late William Kirkpatrick of Conheath, a younger branch of the family of Kirkpatricks ofCloseburn. The deceased was aunt to the Countess de Montejo, the mother of Eugenie, present Empress ofFrance and therefore grand aunt to that distinguished personage.
