death in the immediate family, the plan fee
guarantees a refund of any unused portion
Home Pick-up & Drop-off Service
Our popular individual home pick-up and
drop-off service will continue to be offered
within the immediate Vancouver lower
mainland.
Mandate’s Gold Card Membership
Seven years ago we introduced Gold Card
membership to our customers who have
completed four or more overnight tours
in a calendar year. This membership has
been well received, with an average of 5%
of our tour registrations representing Gold
Card Members.
If you have qualified as a Gold Card
member in 2009, in December, you will
receive a 5% rebate cheque for all completed
tours. You will also qualify for an instant 5%
discount on all overnight tours booked in
2010. This discount will continue for every
calendar year that you continue to complete
four or more tours. Other benefits of Gold

Card membership includes:
● Give-aways and/or special offers as
they become available
● A personalized Gold Card name tag
● Room upgrades where available
Tour Activity Level
We use the walking symbol to reflect
the approximate tour activity level of each
tour however if you have any concerns
or questions, please enquire at the time
of registration when our staff will be very
happy to discuss the itinerary in more
depth.
Please note that any tour involving boats
(excluding ferries) has automatically been
categorized as Intermediate. This is because
tide and sea conditions can sometimes
make boarding and disembarking more
difficult and result in unstable, slippery
conditions on board.
EASY
You must be able to walk to and from
coach, hotels, venues & restaurants.
MODERATE
You should be able to climb stairs and
walk reasonable distances, possibly over
uneven ground or inclines and for this
reason these tours would not be suitable
for people requiring walkers.
INTERMEDIATE
You must be able to walk a kilometre
or more on uneven ground or extended
inclines.
Extreme cold and high altitudes will be
experienced on some tours.
Wherever boats (excluding ferries) are
involved and because of tide conditions,
you must be able to negotiate the possibility
of a steep ramp to gain access to the boat
or wharf.
It is recommended that persons requiring
assistance be accompanied by a companion
who is capable and totally responsible for
providing that assistance since Mandate
Tours cannot provide special individual
assistance to tour members with special
needs.
Proposed HST
We have included the proposed
HST for all Canadian tours commencing
July 1 if the tax does not go through
we will gladly refund you the difference.
It’s Carol Skidmore’s voice that you will
hear most
often when
you call. She
handles most
of the tour
her strongest
attributes is her attention to detail, which
is a great asset when organizing the
many details pertaining to mailings,
brochure proofing and the like.
promotion,
sales,
marketing and
tour guiding.
everything
runs
smoothly.
He is
responsible
for the
overall
operation
of Mandate Tours, from day to day
decision making to long term planning
and expressing his opinions on almost
everything!
George and Melinda work closely
together on growing and moving the
all handle tour registrations and we
appreciate and rely on your repeat
What is a Pingo?
Pingos are ice core hills that can only grow
in a permafrost environment and can reach a
height of 150 feet. Pingo is an Inuvialuit word
for conical hill. A.E. Porsild (the scout for the
Reindeer expedition) was first to suggest the
scientific use of the word pingo. There are an
estimated 3,000 pingos in North America over
which some 1,500 are found in the Mackenzie
Delta – Tuktoyaktuk. The Inuvialuit & the
Canadian Parks Service have recognized
the significance of these unique landforms
and designated the area a Pingo Canadian
Landmark Site.
