Vinyl SheetgoodsEmbossingLevelerEnvironmentally friendly • Anti-microbial • One part system • Residential/Commercial Use • Solvent Free1800ROBERTS 1800 VINYLSHEETGOODS EMBOSSINGLEVELLER is a low VOC,environmentally friendly, specially formulated, unique,one-part, ready-to-use productdesigned to fill and level theembossed surface of existingresilient flooring prior to theinstallation of new floorcovering. 1800 permits theapplication of new adhesiveand consequently, new floorcovering with the existingvinyl flooring in place. This product is non-flammable,non-toxic and solvent-free.Conditions and Limitations:1. Temperature: Adhesive and floor must be at least65o F (18.3oC), or higher if the floorcoveringmanufacturer recommends.2. Condition of floor: Existing resilient floors must becompletely and securely bonded to an approvedsubfloor and should be free of all foreign matterincluding adhesives, paint, wax or other coatingsand finishes. Strip all old floor finishes and ensurethe substrate is completely dry prior to applyingthe leveler.3. This product, as well as the surface of resilientfloorings, is very non-porous and as a result, theopen time of traditional "wet-set" floorcoveringadhesives will be significantly retarded. The use ofpressure-sensitive, high-tack adhesives will bemore suitable when choosing an adhesive for thenew floorcovering.Uses:Use 1800 to infuse or fill the embossing in existingresilient floors, thereby eliminating the need forsanding or removing existing sheet vinyl flooring, vinyl backing, lining-felt or resilient tile, andeliminating the potential risk of exposure to asbestos.Preparation and Application:1. Apply 1800 to the substrate and fill in the embossedareas on the existing floor while simultaneouslyremoving most of the excess from the unembossedareas using a smooth- edged, or finishing-bladetrowel. Employ the same troweling action usedwhen applying traditional floorcovering adhesives.Trowel at a 45∞ angle to the embossing lines wherepractical.2. Allow the leveller up to 1-1/2 to 2 hours to drycompletely before installing new flooring material.Any residual tack is negligible.3. Once the leveler is completely dry, trowel ridges orany unevenness in the leveller can be removed byusing the front edge of a smooth edge-finishingtrowel or by scraping with a wallpaper scraper. Thesubstrate is now ready for the new floorcoveringmaterial.Ventilation:To enhance curing of leveler, implement effectiveventilation by opening windows and doors for anadequate supply of fresh air. Also, consider usingwindow fans and/or air movers to bring fresh air inand to exhaust emissions to the outdoors.Clean Up:Wet adhesive can be cleaned from tools with a waterdampenedrag. For dried adhesive use Roberts 1901Solvent sparingly with a clean white cotton cloth. Donot pour 1901 Solvent directly onto flooring.Coverage:Coverage is approximately 17 sq. yds. / litre or65 sq.yds / US gallon or 16 sq. yds. / US Quart.Coverage will vary according to the degree oftexture or embossing in the resilient floor surfacebeing filled.Roberts Consolidated Industries, Inc. • Boca Raton, FL 33487 • (800) 423 6545 • www.qep.com
