<strong>Community</strong><strong>Connections</strong>What is <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Connections</strong>?The <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Connections</strong> program helpsnewcomer adults and families adjust to life inCanada.Through <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Connections</strong>, you can meeta Canadian friend in your community who canhelp you settle into your new life in Canada.A Friend in CanadaYour new friend will volunteer time each week tobe with you and help you with such things as:• finding your way around and using localtransportation• practicing English or French• learning about community services• education and employment issues• registering your children at school• shopping for groceries and other items• introducing you to social and recreationalactivitiesYour new friend will not provide livingaccommodations or money, but will help you inmany other ways to make your first few monthsin Canada easier.Join the<strong>Community</strong> <strong>Connections</strong> ProgramIt costs nothing.Your Canadian friend will help you get to knowyour new community and to participate incommunity activities.
