DrumgooleABOUT CAMPEntering the 14 th season of providing for the children of Staten Island, The CYO Summer Campname honors Fr. John C. Drumgoole and Congresswoman Elizabeth Connelly. Fr. John C.Drumgoole believed that “If the heart is not cultivated, all is lost.” Using this ideal, the campencourages cooperation, friendship and opportunities for children to achieve their full potential asloving human beings. In honor of Congresswoman Elizabeth Connelly, the camp also welcomeschildren with specials needs and provides an essential childhood experience for physically disabledchildren, including an accessible water park for all campers. The Fr. Drumgoole-Connelly CYOSummer Day Camp is licensed by the NYC Department of Health and accredited by the AmericanCamping Association.CAMP STAFFPool staff are Red Cross-Certified Lifeguards with completed CPRand standard First Aid training. Full-time Registered Nurse on campgrounds. Adult staff supervise children campers. Low staff-to-camperratio.COUNSELORS IN TRAINING [CIT]Ages 14-17Our CIT program teaches leadership skills and encourages personalgrowth in a supportive environment. CITs learn about service to campand community, how to effectively engage campers, and how to workcollaboratively. CIT program applicants must be available to work theentire camp season, submit a resume, 4 letters of recommendation anda copy of their working papers.
