20.6 By doing the Deflection Test, a load at approximately working load and a 10% overload must be placed<br />

on the catenary wire. The sag or deflection <strong>of</strong> the catenary wire must then be measured. The founding’s<br />

<strong>of</strong> this test must be captured on a test certificate.<br />

20.7 By doing the Torque Test, all bolts and nuts must be re-torqued to ensure that they are correctly<br />

fastened. The results <strong>of</strong> this test must be captured in a test certificate.<br />

20.8 All equipment relative to the structures that must be tested must undergo these tests to ensure safety<br />

<strong>of</strong> public and personnel.<br />

20.9 Remarks with regard to these tests must be captured on the test certificate.<br />

20.10 The date that the test was performed must be captured on the test certificate. As well as the date <strong>of</strong> the<br />

previous test and the next test.<br />

20.11 The name and signature <strong>of</strong> the person that performed the tests must be captured on the test certificate.<br />

20.<strong>12</strong> The certificate must have a certificate number.<br />

20.13 The customer’s name must be captured on the certificate.<br />

20.14 The site address must be captured on the certificate.<br />

20.15 The item location and number must be captured on the certificate.<br />

20.16 A detailed description <strong>of</strong> the item must be captured on the certificate.<br />

20.17 The manufacture’s name must be captured on the test certificate.<br />

20.18 A marker must be placed on items tested.<br />

20.19.1 The subcontractor performing the load test must be accredited as a LME (Lifting Machine Entity) with<br />

the Department <strong>of</strong> Labour in terms <strong>of</strong> the Driven Machinery Regulations promulgated in terms <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 <strong>of</strong> 1993.<br />

20.19.2 The <strong>Tender</strong>er must attach the certificate <strong>of</strong> the Inspector that must be registered with the Engineering<br />

Council <strong>of</strong> South Africa as a RegLMI (Registered Lifting Machine Inspector) including the contractual<br />

agreement signed by both the Inspector and the Representative <strong>of</strong> the tenderer.<br />

21. PROJECT PROGRAMME PLAN<br />

The contractor will be issued with a programme plan <strong>of</strong> the work to be undertaken with set milestones to<br />

be achieved . The contractor shall have a weekly meeting with the Representative providing a progress<br />

report on work completed.<br />

22. REMOVAL OF THE FESTIVE LIGHTS<br />

22.1 It is the contractors responsibility to remove all festive lighting installed in terms <strong>of</strong> this<br />

contract as and when instructed by the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Electricity Services.<br />

22.2 All festive lighting so removed must be transported back to Ndabeni stores, Melck St, Ndabeni<br />

and <strong>of</strong>floaded into the store as will be indicated by the city <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Electricity Services.<br />

22.3 Any damage to festive lighting incurred by the removal, transport and <strong>of</strong>f loading process will be<br />

for the account <strong>of</strong> the successful tenderer.<br />
